    My brotehr-in-law may send me a camera through courier, the cost of which could be about USD250. Am I required to pay duty on this?

    Camera upto rs 10,000/- can be received without any duty if they are bonafide gifts.Your`s
    is borderline case.You may receive without any duty.Best of luck
