The track facility can also be provided for foreign parcels as it is available for Speed Post. The person who sends gift or parcel will be in position to know where his parcel is lying. The traceability of foreign parcel will increase customer satisfaction which will lead to higher profit to Postal department.

As India being democratic country, every movement is watched very closely. The bad service is reported very widely but good work by the Postal department is not highlighted. Yes, it is true that Post department have to improve its service and same time become profitable.

The Post is in business of communication and logistics. Its service is compared with UPS, FedEx and DHL. The long term strategy of Indian Post is to provide competitive service in globalised world.

Further the Postal department has to collaborate with big multinational company to supply spare parts, repair and maintenance goods, warranty replacement and return goods as strategic service. No service provider has a network of 1.55 lakhs of collection and delivery points and existence in market for more than 150 years in India.

The Postman are better informed about locality and type of people living in a area .In many part of India, it is the postman who is the most educated person and only source to provide information about outside world. No system is better if it is not utilised
